What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies are used to remember preferences and settings so that the site works properly.
Cookies on this site
Rasmussen Audio uses only strictly necessary, functional cookies. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics services.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
rm_lang |
Functional | Remembers your language preference (Danish or English) so you don't have to switch on every page visit. | 1 year |
rm_theme |
Functional | Remembers your theme preference (dark or light mode). Stored locally in your browser — never sent to the server. | 30 days (browser only) |
Note: rm_theme uses localStorage, not a cookie. It is stored only in your browser and is never transmitted to our server.
Anonymised visit & download logging
We log page views and free MP3 downloads to understand how the catalogue is used. No cookie is involved — your IP address is combined with a secret that changes daily and one-way hashed (SHA-256), so the stored value cannot be traced back to you or reused across days. We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics service.
Payment (WAV licences)
When you purchase a WAV licence, you are redirected to Stripe to complete payment on their secure, hosted checkout page. We do not set any cookies for this ourselves — Stripe may set cookies on their own domain as part of processing your payment and preventing fraud. See Stripe's privacy policy for details. The free MP3 download requires no payment and does not involve Stripe.
No consent banner
Because we only use strictly functional cookies that store no personal data, we are not required by law to ask for your consent before setting them. We do not use advertising or social media tracking cookies. Note that the Stripe checkout page (a separate site you are redirected to) has its own cookie and consent practices, outside our control.
How to delete cookies
You can delete cookies or block them in your browser settings at any time. Please note that deleting rm_lang means the site will revert to the default language on your next visit.
